Taking part
Do I have to install an app?
No. Peerpep also works in your browser, at app.peerpep.eu. Prefer an app? There's one for iPhone and Android.
Does taking part cost anything?
Not at the moment. All challenges on Peerpep are currently free.
How old do you have to be?
At least 13. Until you're 16 only with the consent of a parent or guardian. A parent can link their account to their child's.
Can I take part without a phone?
In a challenge run by a school or municipality, the organiser can print it and enter your answers later. You count just the same.
Challenges and tasks
What if not everyone takes part?
They don't have to. Every task has a threshold, for example 60 percent of the group. When the group reaches it, the task counts for everyone.
Is there a leaderboard?
No. There's no scoreboard and no winner. You see how many more people are needed, and that's all that counts.
What kinds of task are there?
Seven: walking steps, a quiz question, a poll, choosing together, scanning a QR code, a text and a number. A challenge combines a few of them. A quiz question only counts when your answer is right.
What is a community?
A standing group in Peerpep: your neighbourhood, your running group, your class. A community has a chat of its own and takes on challenge after challenge. It can be open, or only found through an invitation.
Rewards and spots
How do I collect a reward?
When the group has done every task, the reward appears in the app. You show it at the shop and swipe across the screen, so the staff can see it's genuine.
What is a spot?
A real shop where you collect a reward: a coffee house, a bookshop, a bakery. The app shows you which spots are near you.
Privacy and safety
Who sees my answers?
Other participants see that you contributed, not what you answered. Whoever made the challenge, whoever runs it for a municipality, school or employer, and the Peerpep team see your answers with your name. In an anonymous poll nobody sees what you chose.
Can anyone see where I am?
No. Peerpep works with a position rounded to about 800 metres, and nobody sees exactly where you are.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, under Profile, at the very bottom. The page on deleting your account (in Dutch) says what goes and what stays.
Organisations
Can my organisation work with Peerpep?
Yes. Peerpep is made for municipalities, schools, employers, clubs and events, and we help set it up. Email gerd@peerpep.eu.
